It was never her job. She was tasked with going to South America and meeting with countries to try to find the root of why the migrants were coming to the US and to set up procedures for applying for US from their own countries. She spent several months doing that. She does not set policy at the border. This problem could have been fixed if Trump hadn’t told the Republicans to tank the best bipartisan border bill we have had in 50 years.
